Glen Road Apartments
Exterior Building Restoration

The Glen Road Apartments consist of two neighboring three storey residential buildings in Downtown Toronto. Both buildings are listed Heritage buildings and were fully occupied during the completion of the project. The scope of work included roofing repairs, wood window rehabilitation, exterior facade masonry restoration and parapet sheet metal works. We also completed various building upgrades including entrance waterproofing, construction of new fire escapes, electrical upgrades and conservation works to both of the wooden front porticos.

St. Mary's Church
Complete Building Rehabilitation

The historic St Mary’s Church is located at 130 Bathurst Street in Toronto. The church was constructed in 1889 with the tower being finished in 1905. The church is a solid masonry building constructed using buff brick and limestone. Heritage Restoration Inc. completed a wide array of restoration at St Mary’s Church over multiple phases. The scope of work included large scale brick replacements, carved stone replacements, pinnacle replacements, slate roof replacement, copper flashings and sheet-metal cladding, full exterior waterproofing, courtyard landscape stone work, foundation repair and waterproofing, structural upgrades to the roof and foundations, paving, concrete ramps, stairs and steps, new interior and exterior doors as well as complete interior renovations included washrooms, drywall, new pews, painting, tile work, electrical and mechanical. HRI worked as part of a team with the consultant and the owner to provide a high quality finished product that was presented an award from the Architecture conservatory association after its completion.

CNR Building
Exterior Building Restoration

The Canadian National Railway Police Building was built in 1923 and is a listed Heritage building in the City of Toronto. HRI’s restoration scope took place as part of the PANAM games revitalization of the area in 2013/2014. The scope of work included scaffold, tuck-pointing and brick replacement, roofing repairs and associated flashing work as well as wood window conservation and associated carpentry work. The project was complete on budget and within the tight time frame.

Coach House Roof Replacement and Main House Roof Replacement

HRI completed two projects at the Historical Spadina Museum located in Toronto, ON. The first project scope included removal and replacement of the cedar shingle roofing system, new gutters and downspouts, as well as wood restoration and painting on the Coach House. The second project included removal and replacement of the cedar shingle roofing system including new gutters, downspouts and associated sheet metal works to the main house.

Exterior Building Envelope

The Armoury is a listed Heritage building with the City of Kawartha Lakes and is located in the City of Lindsay. The project consisted of two phases with the first being the North Elevation and the second being the South. The building remained operational for the entire project. The scope of work included brick and stone masonry repair/replacement, window replacement, flat and shingle roofing, rough carpentry; interior finishes as well as custom historical sheet lead work.

City of Kawartha Lakes
City Hall Building Envelope

City Hall is a listed Heritage Building with the COKL. This building is one of the three judicial buildings designed by the influential Toronto Architect firm of Frederick Cumberland and William Storm. The building remained operational during all of the restoration work, which included various masonry works, complete slate roof replacement, flat roofing replacement, wood window repair and other miscellaneous works.

Buckhorn Lock 31
Masonry Stabilization and Restoration

Type: Masonry Rehab Services Project
Lock 31 – Buckhorn is a large solid masonry lock on the historic Trent Severn waterway, one of the busiest locks on the Trent. This project included the installation of an engineered cofferdam and full dewatering of the lock. Once dry, a full review of the masonry walls was conducted with the consultants to determine the full extent of the work. The masonry scope included 100% repointing, stone Dutchman repairs, large scale custom stone replacement, and low pressure grouting of the lock walls.

Regent Theatre
Interior Plaster Conservation

The Regent Theatre is located in downtown Oshawa and was built in 1913. It is a designated Heritage building with the City and now currently owned by the University. The scope of work included conservation and repair of the remaining heritage plaster elements. From these restored elements the entire theatre ceiling was recreated to match the existing. Although not much of the existing was retained the original elements were incorporated into the existing ceiling to retain as much of the original as possible.

St. Basil Church
Interior Sanctuary Repainting

St. Basil’s Church, built in 1856, is the founding church of the Congregation of St. Basil in Toronto, the college church of St. Michael's College, Toronto, and a parish church serving a large local congregation. The church remained operational during the multi-phased project consisting of full scaffold erection complete with containment, to allow for plaster repairs, surface preparation and painting of walls ceiling and columns.

Exterior Building Restoration and Addition

The historical structure located at 180 John Street in heart of downtown Toronto is a beautiful building that has stood the test of time. It was constructed of three wythe masonry and pre-caste window sills. It is currently owned by the Allied Property group and is zoned for mixed commercial and office space. Heritage Restoration Inc. completed the complete exterior/ interior restoration of the building. The project including brick and pre-cast masonry work, interior lead abatement, heritage lead coated copper flashings, heritage sheet metal cornice fabrication and installation. The masonry scope for this project included significant pre-cast replacement as well and large scale and selective brick replacement.

King St. Parkade

The King St. Parkade is one of the City of Peterborough’s municipal parking facilities. HRI completed structural repairs and application of new sealants and penetrating sealer throughout multi-level precast parking garage. Various other miscellaneous repairs were also completed; including expansion joint replacement, drainage repairs etc. We also addressed the exterior envelope, completing masonry repair and replacement of building envelope sealants.

Guelph West Parkade Phase 1

Type: Parking and Related Services Project
The West Parkade is one of the Guelph’s municipal parking facilities. HRI completed wholesale sealant and thin system waterproofing installation on the top interior level of multi level pre-cast parking garage. We also completed various structural concrete repairs throughout, as well as other miscellaneous repairs which included; expansion joint replacement, drain replacements, installation of roof deck epoxy thin system test area etc.

TCHC St. Andrews

TCHC St. Andrews is a multi-residential high rise building complex located at 2063/2067 Islington Ave. HRI completed removal and replacement of thin system intermediate slab waterproofing. We also addressed localized roof slab overburden removal/replacement for re-application of hot applied waterproofing system. Various structural concrete repairs, drain replacements, replacement of expansion joints, crack injection and other miscellaneous repairs were also completed throughout.

TCHC Rowntree

The TCHC Rowntree Building is a multi-residential high-rise building located at 2765 Islington Ave. HRI completed removal and replacement of thin system intermediate slab waterproofing. We also addressed localized roof slab overburden removal/replacement for re-application of hot applied waterproofing system. Various structural concrete repairs, drain replacements, replacement of expansion joints, crack injection and other miscellaneous repairs were also completed throughout.

The Anchorage

Location: Belleville, ON | Completion Date: December 2016 | Owner: Royal Property Management (Representative on behalf of Condo Corporation) | Consultant: Edison Engineers
Type: Parking and Related Services Project
The Anchorage is one of Belleville’s most highly sought after condominium buildings. Its garage is composed of a single on grade level, with a conventional slab elevated podium deck level above. HRI completed removal of all of overburden on the suspended slab. We then repaired the structural slab, installed a hot applied waterproofing system, and finally, a sloped asphalt padding and asphalt top course along with reinstatement of all hard landscaping overburden (sidewalks, ramps etc). Various miscellaneous garage repairs were completed including column repairs, vertical repairs, drainage repairs, railings, trench drain replacement etc.

Mississauga City Centre Transit Terminal

Type: Infrastructure Restoration Services Project
The City Centre Transit Terminal is located adjacent to the Square One Shopping Centre, making it one of the City of Mississauga’s highest traffic public transportation hubs. HRI completed removal of all of overburden on suspended podium deck portion of the transit terminal bus loop. Concrete repairs and application of hot applied waterproofing system were then completed. Finally, HRI Reinstated all bus loop overburden including granular, concrete topping, asphalt, curbs, stamped concrete etc.

TCHC Eglinton

Type: Parking and Related Services Project
The TCHC Eglinton Building is a multi-residential high-rise building located at 220 Eglinton Ave. E. Works included removal of overburden and all underground garage services, full P1 roof slab replacement and reinstatement of garage waterproofing/overburden/and services. Various other miscellaneous repairs within the parking garage, including steel beam
replacement and repairs, fireproofing, concrete and drainage repairs, etc, were also completed.

Alton and Mono Mills Standpipe Improvements

Location: Caledon, ON | Completion Date: May 2014 | Owner: Region of Peel | Consultant: CIMA+
Type: Infrastructure Restoration Services Project
The Alton and Mono Mills Standpipes are two of Peel Regions elevated potable water reservoirs, used to service the small towns of Alton and Mono Mills, in the Caledon Region. HRI completely re-coated the interior and exterior of the two standpipes. Also completed were various structural and safety upgrades.

Tall Pines Long Term Health Care Centre

Type: Balcony and Wall Work Services Project
The Tall Pines Long Term Health Care Centre is a new generation long term care center owned and operated by the Region of Peel. HRI Removed of existing balcony waterproofing and topping, completed repairs to structural slab and replaced the central balcony drain, and installed a new topping and waterproofing system. Various other miscellaneous repairs/upgrades were completed, as directed.
